What events will be held in Almaty region in honor of the May holidays?

The long-awaited month of May will soon come, which is marked by special holidays among Kazakhstanis. So, on May 1, the Republic will celebrate the Unity of Peoples Holiday, on May 7 – Defender of the Fatherland Day and on May 9 — Victory Day, in honor of which citizens will rest from May 7 to May 10 inclusive.

"In the region of seven rivers – Almaty region, they are preparing to celebrate spring events on a large scale. Moreover, they will be celebrated from the end of April. Citizens will rest from May 30 to May 2, as well as from May 7 to May 10",- said the head of the Department of Internal Policy Kerimbek Bolat.

From cultural events to May 1, book exhibitions "Mamyr - shuak, yntymak uytkysy" were organized in cities and district centers of the region. Challenges and flash mobs are starting for the younger generation. The staging of performances, the evening of live music "Live Arbat", forums for the younger generation "Beibitshilik- el tiregi" all this will be presented to the attention of zhetysu residents. In addition, a festival with the participation of the Assembly of Peoples of Kazakhstan will be held in the regional center, in Zhastar Park
In general, the Celebration of the Unity of the people of Kazakhstan in the current 2022 will be held under the motto of rallying the nation around the ideals and values of the New Kazakhstan.

It is worth noting that the Almaty region uses a single algorithm for celebrating Defender of the Fatherland Day and Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War. In this regard, an action plan has been developed and work is underway.

As part of the action plan for the holiday, more than 2000 events of various levels and formats will be held (thematic book exhibitions, classes and curatorial hours in educational institutions,) photo contests, forums and festivals, meetings, charity events in social institutions, concert programs, challenges, sports competitions, etc. will be held to form a sense of patriotism among the population).

During the Victory Day celebrations, the regiment "Er esimi — el esinde" was organized, which will be held in an online format.
The Department of Culture, Archives and Documentation organizes patriotic, historical and educational evenings, round tables, exhibitions, bibliographic reviews, corners in libraries and museums of the region. In addition, it is planned to hold cultural events, concerts and performances in cultural centers.

The Department of Physical Culture and Sports organizes mass sports events, regional competitions in national equestrian sports.

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a solemn military-patriotic event and swearing-in ceremony of young soldiers and young members of military-patriotic clubs will take place.

It is planned to hold regional charity events "Warmth of the Heart", "Ayaly Alakan", "Asar", a month of caring for the workers of the Great Patriotic War and the home front.

It is worth emphasizing that the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Veterans" No. 322-VI of May 6, 2020 was approved for the military personnel of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In this regard, one-time financial assistance is provided annually in honor of Victory Day in the above categories. In total, there are 26 veterans in the Almaty region.

In addition, since the beginning of this year, 4.5 million tenge has been allocated from the budget to 41 participants and disabled veterans of the Great Patriotic War to pay compensation for utilities (including heating, hot and cold water, gas and electricity).

At the same time, in honor of the Defenders of the Fatherland Day on May 7, special headings "Paryz", "Er – elinin korgany", "Vocation" and others will be published in the regional newspapers "Zhetysu", "Lights of Alatau".

And also the regional TV channel "Zhetysu" will broadcast special stories in the programs "Tanzharyk", "Today". Portraits of the events organized in the region on May 7 are being prepared for a special edition of the informational news program.

In general, work is planned in the region on the festive decoration of settlements, facades of state institutions.
