With the onset of winter, the emergency Department of the Almaty region conducts explanatory work on the prevention of accidents, mainly topics related to the danger of carbon monoxide, safety on thin ice and on roads in winter.
The risks of emergency situations arise due to the use of various types of fuel for heating homes and improper use can even lead to the death of people.
In order to reduce the risks of tragic consequences from carbon monoxide poisoning or gorenje products, at the expense of local executive bodies in the past heating period, about 24 thousand carbon monoxide sensors were purchased and installed.
It is noted that before going on a long journey in winter, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with the weather forecast, monitor its changes and SMS alerts.
"Every car must necessarily have things that will save lives in an emergency – blowtorches, cables, chains for wheels, shovels, paraffin candles, as well as warm clothes, basic necessities, food and water supplies," said Rinat Karandashev, Head of the Emergency Response Department, Major of Civil Protection.
Also, when traveling during severe frosts or snowfall, it is recommended to group several cars, then, in case of a breakdown, other drivers from the convoy will be able to come to the rescue.
And finally, the Emergency Department of the Almaty region convincingly asks ice fishing enthusiasts to comply with safety requirements, as well as parents not to leave children unattended by adults near the water.
To date, the thickness of the ice on the territory of the region is not strong enough for human weight, in this regard, we ask citizens not to go out on the weak ice.
