Commemorations and sports events allowed in Almaty region

Two major quarantine restrictions were lifted in the Almaty region. Since March 9, it is allowed to hold commemorations in closed rooms and sports events without spectators. This was announced by the deputy head of the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological control of the Almaty region Askhat Charapiev, on the information platform "JETISÝ MEDIA".

In addition, subject to strict quarantine measures, collective worship will be allowed in religious sites, with a occupancy rate of no more than 30%, children's entertainment centers, swimming pools and circuses will operate.

The speaker also stressed that all other restrictions, including the mask regime and the ban on festive corporate events, remain in force.

"It is worth noting that the quarantine has not been lifted, the population will still have to wear masks, and sanitary measures remain strengthened everywhere. And the ban on the organization and holding of festive corporate events continues. To ensure that the number of cases in the region has not increased, the work of monitoring groups is being strengthened. Citizens who violate the sanitary rules will be severely punished, " Askhat Charapiyev said.

According to the matrix of assessment of the epidemiological situation in the regions of Kazakhstan, Almaty region is in the "green" zone. But this is not a reason to relax. The growth rate of CVI in the region when compared over the past 2 weeks increased by 0.4% to 0.6%. In the last 24 hours alone, 64 new cases were registered.
