Socio-political situation in Almaty region
Representatives of 105 ethnic groups live in the region, 71 ethno-cultural centers, 467 non-governmental organizations, 15 branch trade unions, 67 youth associations and 6 regional branches of political parties operate.
Today, the socio-political situation in the region is stable. Local executive bodies of the region constantly monitor possible hotbeds of social tension. Along with this, the multi-ethnic districts of the region (Enbekshikazakh, Uyghur, Panfilov, Ili, Zhambyl, Talgar) are under special control.
In order to implement the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the procedure for organizing and holding peaceful assemblies in the Republic of Kazakhstan" dated May 25, 2020 in the region (20 districts and cities) 22 specialized locations for peaceful assemblies and 20 routes for peaceful marches and demonstrations have been identified.
Social networks are monitored daily to identify materials that can have a negative impact on the current socio-political situation. According to the data received from the Regional Department of Justiceы, 920 non-governmental organizations are registered in the region.Of these, 588 are public associations, 290 are public foundations, and 42 are associations of legal entities.
Non-governmental organizations of the region organize their activities in various spheres of public life: social protection ofthe population, educationи, physical cultureе, youth policyе, сфере child protection, gender issues, promotion of a healthy lifestyle, protection of citizens ' rights and other socially significant areas. As of May 25 this year, 4 NGOs were brought to administrative responsibility in accordance with Article 489-1 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Kazakhstan for late or incomplete submission of their information to the NGO database.
