Household fire safety

The Emergency Situations Department of the Kegen District warns the residents of the district about compliance with fire safety rules in order to prevent fires and deaths in the household and residential sector, namely:

- Do not smoke indoors;

- Ensuring trouble-free operation of the furnace during the heating season;

- Do not leave flammable objects near the stove;

- Do not use flammable liquids to light the oven;

- Do not throw unslaked coal near wooden objects;

- It is forbidden to use self-made electrical protection;

- it is advisable to seek help from electricians to repair electrified wires and install the electrical system in the house;

- Timely check electrical installations;

- Do not leave children unattended and do not lock them;

To connect stoves to chimneys:

1) The distance from the top of the chimney to the ceiling of combustible materials must be at least 0.5 m if the ceiling is not protected from fire, and 0.4 m if it is protected;

2) If the distance from the bottom of the chimney to the floor of combustible or slow-burning materials is at least 0.15 m, it is allowed to consider chimneys with a length of not more than 0.4 m. Chimneys must be made of non-combustible materials providing a fire resistance limit of 0.75 m and more.

It is necessary to whitewash (whitewash) all chimneys and walls through which chimneys pass through roofs. During operation: clean chimneys and stoves from ash before the start of the heating period and at least once every three months during the entire heating period.

We remind you that if fire safety rules are followed, various fires that lead to death can be prevented.

In the event of a fire or an emergency, you should immediately call the fire department at "101", "112"  and without haste report the situation and apply in full.
