10 large greenhouses to be commissioned in Almaty region by 2026

In the Almaty region, in order to ensure food security, measures are planned to saturate the domestic market. Thus, in order to switch to year-round production of vegetables, 10 large greenhouse farms will be introduced by 2026. 45 hectares, their total production capacity will be 25 thousand tons, - the press service of the akim of the Almaty region reports.

According to the Regional Department of Economics and Budget Planning, this measure will double the gross output of vegetables and create more than 500 jobs.

In addition, the region has a competitive advantage in the production of poultry meat and occupies 32% of the market of the republic. In this regard, as part of the task of import substitution, it is planned to build two and expand one poultry farm. These are Prima Kus, Kausar-Agro, OTAN GreenFood with a total capacity of 76 thousand tons per year, with an investment of 85 billion tenge and the creation of more than 1,100 jobs.
