Kapshagai agrarians harvested a good harvest of onions
Onions are traditionally one of the most popular agricultural crops among farmers in the Shengeldy massif nearby to Kapshagai. This crop is practically the brand of the region. Peasant farms grow Dutch varieties of onions. These varieties are rich in vitamins and minerals, with more than 10 mg of ascorbic acid per 100 g of the product. The pulp of the onion has a firm, medium moisture content, bitter or pungent taste, suitable for universal use. This year, the farmers of Kapshagai again received a rich harvest. About 85 thousand tons of onions were harvested from about 1,700 hectares of sown areas with an average yield of 506.3 c / ha, - the press service of akim of Almaty region reports.
According to the akimat of Kapshagai city, among vegetables in the Kapshagai region, onions are ranked first in terms of sown volumes. This is due to the great demand for this important and useful product. In total, about 50 peasant farms are engaged in onion cultivation in this region. Among them is Naz Dana LLP, which for almost 20 years has been contributing to the development of agriculture in the region, paying special attention to the work on enlarging the types of seeds and increasing production volumes, specializing in the cultivation of spring barley, sugar beets, potatoes, onions and other cultures.
- Today, automation of work processes has firmly entered all spheres, modern agricultural technologies are actively used, a scientific approach is important. We try to keep up with this trend, as this affects the increase in labor productivity, and hence the growth of the harvest. We actively use drip irrigation. Today, out of 140 hectares of land, 70 hectares are sown with corn for grain, 27 hectares - with sugar beets, 15 hectares - with leeks, the remaining 8 hectares - with fruit and berry crops. This year, as well as last year, we expect to receive 600 centners per hectare. A good harvest of corn is also expected this year. Our products, in addition to the markets of the Almaty region, are sent to various retail outlets in Almaty. Such as the "Altyn Orda" market, retail chains "Magnum", "Metro", "Agromart". At the same time, it is exported to the markets of CIS countries, and then to Europe. Now we collect all types of products in a storage with a capacity of 300 tons, preparing for its winter maintenance, ” the head of LLP Nurlan Yetekbaev said, who, by the way, pays considerable attention to charity.
In total, 13666 hectares of arable land were developed in Kapshagai in 2021, of which 8448 hectares of irrigated land. Of these, 4917 hectares of grain crops, incl. 3941 hectares of spring barley, 976 hectares of corn for grain, 3437 hectares of oilseeds, 400 hectares of potatoes, 1831 hectares of vegetables, 250 hectares of melons and gourds, 600 hectares of sugar beets and 2231 hectares of fodder.
As noted in the regional department of agriculture, last year the sown area of onions was 5483 hectares, more than 195 thousand tons of crops were harvested with an average yield of 357 c / ha. This year, 5600 hectares have already been sown with onions, and 161 thousand tons of onions have already been harvested. Cleaning is 92.5 percent complete. As for Kapshagai, the onion harvesting at this stage is complete. In general, out of 30 thousand tons of vegetables stored in the Kapshagai vegetable stores, onions make up exactly half.
