The trout farm is developing by entrepreneur from the Kegen district

Thanks to state support, the fish industry is also developing in the Almaty region. Thus, a resident of Kegen district, having completed training under the Bastau Business project and received a preferential loan, began to grow rainbow trout in spring water. Annually, modern fisheries receive over six thousand tons of marketable fish. In total within 8 months this year, thanks to subsidies in the field of fisheries, over 3 thousand tons of fish have already been received in the region, - the press service of the akim of Almaty region reports.

Being the mechanical engineer by his profession, Ersaiyn Kobenkulov lived and worked in Almaty for a long time. But sometime later he decided to return to his small homeland and engage in animal husbandry. In order to build his business correctly, a novice entrepreneur first took part in a training project on the "Bastau Business" basics of entrepreneurship, which is being implemented within the framework of the "Enbek" state program. After completing his study, he defended the project and began its implementation in his native village of Taldy, Kegen district.

He released the first several thousand fry of trout into a pool built near the spring. This was the start in his successful and profitable business now.

“The temperature of the water and the local climate have let it possible to grow rainbow trout. A preferential loan in the amount of 4 million tenge, received within the framework of the Enbek program, was a good assistance. These funds were used for building of swimming pools for fish farming, purchase of special equipment and feed. It takes a year and half for the fish to reach its presentation. Twice a year, namely in April and May, we get trout, which is suitable for further sale, ” says the entrepreneur.

According to the fish farmer, the farm receives over 6 thousand tons of marketable fish per year. At the nearest future, Ersaiyn Kobenkulov plans to release fish into two more built basins, which in the future will make it possible to receive up to 20 tons of finished products. Nowadays, the trout is mainly bought by tourists and local residents, mostly it is supplied to the trout farm in the Enbekshikazakh district.

As reported in the regional Chamber of Entrepreneurs, this year Ersaiyn Kobenkulov decided to engage in agricultural tourism in parallel. In his farm, everyone can fish on their own, and then taste the caught fish, which will be deliciously cooked for them right there on the spot, as well as just relax in specially installed summerhouses, yurts, ride horses, steam out in the Saks bath and admire the surrounding beautiful nature ... For the development of this direction this year, a successful entrepreneur received a grant of 3 million tenge under the "Business Road Map-2025" program.

According to the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Almaty region, since the beginning of the year, within the framework of Enbek program, 3.1 thousand unemployed and novice entrepreneurs have studied under the Bastau Business project on the basics of entrepreneurship. In total, more than 1,200 business projects have received grant financing and preferential loans from those trained under the project, taking into account those who completed in previous years.

By the way, as reported in the Balkhash-Alakol Interregional Basin Fisheries Inspectorate, in general, there are 24 fisheries entities in the Almaty region that specialize in fish farming. If last year they raised 943 tons of fish, then in 8 months of this year, thanks to state support in the form of subsidies, they have already received over 3 thousand tons of finished products.
