"Smoking is one of the factors of fire"

The main conditions that contribute to the occurrence of fires in the housing stock and the death of people from them are Smoking and drinking. As statistics show, about 70% of those who died in fires abused alcohol and often smoked in bed.

A smoldering cigarette butt, falling on the bedding, leads to a fire in 15 minutes. In this case, a person receives a fatal dose of carbon monoxide after 3 minutes. In addition, most of these fires occur at night. Basically, fire detection by neighbors occurs when the house is almost completely engulfed in fire. The message to the fire service is received very late, and the person inside the house is killed. Very often, drunk smokers endanger not only their own lives, but the lives of other people – relatives, neighbors.

Dear citizens! Remember that most emergencies that occur in everyday life are caused by the notorious human factor. And Smoking is no exception!

Fire safety rules do not regulate cigarette Smoking in residential areas, however, based on the sad experience of rescue firefighters, we can formulate the main requirements:

- ash must be collected in ashtrays; devices made of non-flammable material must be used as ashtrays

-never smoke in bed or on the couch. A tired or drunk person can't always control their actions.

- it is advisable to smoke outside or in a specially designated area where the floors are made of non-flammable material in case the cigarette falls on the floor;

- do not smoke near flammable or flammable liquids;

-at the end of Smoking, you must carefully extinguish the cigarette,

- install an Autonomous fire detector in the house. With a loud beep, it will inform you about the beginning of a fire and save your life.

-do not throw cigarettes or matches out of Windows or balconies, because they can be carried by air currents to neighboring balconies and open Windows of apartments, which causes fires.

Any violation of fire safety rules entails, as we know, not only sad consequences in the form of fires, but also bringing to justice those responsible for the violation.
