Fire in the home!
As you know, every fourth fire starts from the kitchen, so this room remains one of the most dangerous in apartment and private homes. To prevent a fire of any scale, you should adhere to the rules of fire safety in the kitchen and carefully treat all possible sources of danger.
There are several common causes of fire in the kitchen:
accumulation of dust and fat, which is a highly flammable mixture;
malfunction of equipment or wiring;
improper operation of heating and kitchen equipment;
carelessness in handling fire;
failure to prevent the spread of fire independently.
The stove can be especially dangerous. Regardless of whether it is gas or electric – such equipment must be heat-insulated from flammable structures made of wood and plastic. And if the stove is located near the window-you can not hang long curtains that can get into the flames and catch fire. Gloves and towels should be kept away from fire.During cooking, the oil is heated to an extremely high temperature and can also cause ignition. To avoid this, cover the dishes with a special lid or a damp cloth. You can not fill the oil in hot water – it will spray and ignite, while spreading around the room. Do not store substances that are highly flammable in the kitchen, such as solvents or aerosols. If they overheat, they may catch fire.
Ochs karasaysky district recalls the following instructions for fire safety of the kitchen:
- do not leave children in the kitchen unattended;
- cook with your hair pulled back and your sleeves rolled up;
- pay attention to the gas supply – if the burner constantly goes out (for example, due to contamination or water ingress), clean or dry it;
- do not leave food in the cooking process without supervision;
- use kitchen appliances in accordance with the instructions, in case of breakage, do not use appliances;
- wipe dust and grease from surfaces;
- make sure that the electrical wires of the devices are located further from the surfaces that are heated, the cords must be dry and clean.
If you have a fire, call the fire service, turn off the gas and electricity. While firefighters arrive at the scene, you can close the kitchen door and pour water on it from the outside, plugging the cracks with wet rags to prevent the fire from spreading.
