The UN development program in the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Governor's Office of Almaty region represented by the state institution "Department of energy and housing and communal services of Almaty region", non-profit organizations globalwaterchallenge and CocaCola, have started the project " Demonstration of new approaches in the automated drinking water supply system and electronic billing system as a model and implementation of a pilot dispatching system in Taldykorgan

The goal of the Project is to demonstrate new approaches to water system automation and implement an electronic billing system as a model and pilot system.

In order to reduce and rationalize the use of hot water during start-up, we intend to introduce recycling of water pipes of automatic hot water supply control systems in apartment buildings. The introduction of digitalization in the housing and utilities sector will allow you to get away from the system of invoicing consumers on paper,as well as involve the population in the use of modern digital technologies.

The project will demonstrate automation technology for the water supply system with effective wireless data transmission to the dispatching center, as well as install hot water recycling systems.

The project consists of three components:

- demonstration of an automated water supply system and a centralized dispatch system;

- integrated hot water system in an old apartment building;

- raising awareness of the advanced water supply system.

Within these components, certain work is envisaged aimed at developing the capacity of Zhetysu Vodokanal ON advanced technologies and approaches in water supply, increasing public awareness of the water supply system and the use of effective water metering systems. It is planned to create a customer database and accounting system using web technologies and introduce electronic billing systems with automatic calculation of payments, Bank statements and monthly bills to subscribers, as well as one centralized dispatch center with automated functions.

Joint partnership work on the results of two years of activity will provide 45 households with wireless transmission of data on water consumption in the pilot mode, optimize the pipeline system for hot water supply in a pilot apartment building in Taldykorgan, and most importantly, clearly demonstrate modern technologies and models of innovative heat, water consumption and savings.
