In the Address of the Head of State "Kazakhstan in a new reality: time for action", the head of state instructed to introduce a three-tier model in the country's legal system with the distribution of powers between the police, the prosecutor's office and the court.
Since December 31, 2020, on the day of the entry into force of legislative amendments, all criminal prosecution and prosecutor's offices have switched to approving the main decisions on a criminal case in electronic form.
Now three bodies are responsible for the criminal process: the police, the prosecutor's office and the court.
