Within the framework of the memorandum of cooperation between the Department of religious affairs of Almaty region and the Egyptian University of Islamic culture "Nur-Mubarak", the new head of the "Center for combating religious extremism" at the university, Timur Nusuphanuly, visited the "Center for research on problems in the field of religion" and "Center for the rehabilitation of victims of religious extremism and adherents of destructive cults" subordinate to the department. During the meeting, the sides discussed ways to form the population's immunity to destructive religious movements, and also developed a plan for cooperation between the two sides to counter extremism. In addition, the issue of conducting advanced training courses and internships for specialists in religious studies and theology of the center during the year was considered.
