Artificial Intelligence and traditions of NIS and Nauryz

The competition of scientific projects on the eve of Nauryz was held in the Turkestan "Nazarbayev Intellectual School". NIS students from different regions of the country took part in it. Schoolchildren presented STEAM projects on the theme "Do as I do". Most of them are devoted to medicine, ecology, and the introduction of artificial intelligence in various fields.

For example, the COVID-19 clinical symptom monitoring system developed at NIS Taraza by Kamilla Mashanlo was named the best startup in Zhambyl region. The current project, which took second place at the republican competition, has now been transferred to the city multidisciplinary hospital of Taraz. Almas Saparov from the Uralsk Intellectual School presented the ChestXRayAI application, which allows you to instantly determine the presence of pneumonia by lung X-ray. Ekaterina Kim and Arman Rysmakhanov from the metropolitan NIS of the International Baccalaureate presented an innovative method "JAZGYSH" for automated writing training for people with visual impairments.

One of the main projects of Nauryz meetings was the mobile application of Ayana Kaldybayev from Aktobe "UmaiAsar" to provide emergency assistance in case of family and domestic conflicts and to prevent domestic violence.

A large series of environmental projects has been prepared, including projects using decommissioned "Second Life" equipment, as well as robots and robotic systems that focus on smart collection of household waste, preservation of the atmosphere and nature in general, formation of ecological culture and responsibility.

Thus, a student of the 10th grade of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Taldykorgan, Amina Kairatkyzy, presented the project "Robotic garbage sorting system". The project consists of several robotic systems, each of which selects only its own type of garbage.

For example, a fraction of paper can be finished with the help of an air flow created by a powerful fan. The fraction of iron - with the help of an electromagnet.

The main events of the Nauryz meetings can be called the programmable flight of training drones, the team game "The most earthquake-resistant structure", as well as the NIS Intell Race, which started with cars assembled by young inventors.

NIS Taldykorgan computer science teacher Taskin Begungutov conducted an elective course "Using mathematical modeling to understand earthquakes" for students of grades 7-8.

-While working on the project, students learned how to interpret seismic data, conduct triangulation, and were able to make sure that seismic activity is caused by the movements of tectonic plates, - Taskin Begungutov told about the course.

Nauryz meetings are a landmark event for Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, this year they began to return to the real format. Every year in March at NIS, young scientists and inventors present unique projects in which artificial intelligence, digital technologies, the most current trends in world science are supported by folk traditions and national culture.
