The Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools announced the winners of the national robotics championship, who received the right to represent Kazakhstan at the World Robot Olympiad 2021.
The main theme of WRO-2021 - PowerBots - is dedicated to one of the most global priorities of our time. How to build the future of a green economy, create new sources of renewable energy, and shape environmental responsibility - young robotics tackled specific problems in the Regular, Open, Future Engineers, creative categories and in several age groups.
In total, almost forty teams entered the national stage of the WRO, each of which successfully performed at the regional qualifying rounds. The online format only emphasized the excitement, creativity, excellent preparation and, of course, the desire for victory of young robotics.
In the main junior category, the winner was the MagicKris team of the Ak-Niet private primary school in Almaty, consisting of Kristina Kiseleva, Mark Biryukov, Pyotr Moroz and coach Oleg Kiselyov. They came up with the best smart home solution that reduces energy consumption.
In the main middle category, the champion title was won by the team A and B of the Almaty training center "Lessons.kz". The robots of Aryana Kadyrova and Bernard Berdaliev (coach Aigerim Erkabayeva) distributed batteries for charging hybrid and electric vehicles at Olympic speed.
In the main senior category, the teams were tasked with supplying residential buildings with electricity from renewable sources, saving excess energy in batteries. In this category, by tradition, there were no equal to the representatives of the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools. The team of Almaty NIS of the chemical and biological direction Vector consisting of Shyngysbek Balgabay and Altair Zhambyl (coach Yasynzhan Shakan) showed the best time and the best results. The entire podium in this category was taken by the students of the Intellectual Schools.
In the main WeDo category, the guys solved complex problems as close to reality as possible. The teams created robots that fight forest fires and evacuate people to safe areas, and then plant new trees to replace the burned ones. Daniel Talgatov and Yerasyl Haydar from the JAIQ 3 team of the Ural school of robotics and programming "Jaiq school" (trainer Yessengali Kaisar) coped with this task best of all.
In the junior creative category, Dauzhan Beketov and Kirill Ostrovsky (trainer Tom Noah) from the LegoMozg team of the International Academy of Robotics have developed a smart power plant that includes a solar panel and a wind turbine. The project, which aims to improve the efficiency of renewable energy sources, brought its authors a convincing victory.
Amina Rakhimbergenova, Aldiyar Pazilov and Daulet Mukhanov (trainer Bakhytgul Kazhykenova) from the NG-PHOTOBIO team of the Moscow Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics have developed a robot that uses the principles of artificial intelligence to obtain biofuel from an amorphous algae plant. They are recognized as winners in the senior creative category.
All the teams that became the best in their categories received the right to participate in the WRO-2021 world stage, which will be held in November 2021 and also online. It is planned that the recognized authorities of the world robotics, who were included in the jury, will work remotely in their countries.
Regional competitions and the WRO national championship are held annually by the autonomous educational organization "Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools" as the National Coordinator of the World Robot Olympiad in Kazakhstan.
⠀- The Olympiads are aimed at developing creative abilities and skills of practical solution of urgent engineering and technical problems, expanding interest in scientific and technical activities, increasing the prestige of professions in the field of information technology, - said Azamat Bidanov, Deputy Director of the Center for Information Technologies and Services of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools ...
