A third of all street lighting will be renewed at the end of the year in Almaty

Today, the construction of 49.5 km of street lightings in Auezov district has started. Till the end of the year, it is planned to make 24 km of outdoor lightings in the Alatau district.

Already 35.3 km of outdoor lighting have been done in the districts of Baganashil, Alatau, Yermensay and Nurlytau. 9 km of outdoor lightings have been changed in the Turksibsky area along Bukhtarma street, Mailin and Kuldzha highway.

In addition, the design and the estimate documentation have been done for the modernization of another 266 km of outdoor lightings or 8896 luminaries (11.5%) in next year.

Within the framework of the public-private partnership project, the energy and communal services department of Almaty city will modernize another 1,015 km of outdoor lighting lines or 45,829 lamps (57%) from 2019 and 42052 pillars.

The city government notes that LED lights will reduce the power usage for 30 percent, reduce the cost of the city budget and improve the quality of street light. In addition, they have a high operational period.
