The governor of Almaty inspected the pedestrian infrastructure reconstruction work’s quality in the city

During the working visit the city’s governor criticized severely the work of the subsidiary organization of Elitstroy construction company, which is doing the reconstruction of Ablai khan avenue.

"You haven’t finished them in time and none of the plots have been made qualitatively. Cobblestones have been laid by waves, the sidewalks don’t’ coincide with the roadway. The area in front of the "Almaty 2" station has not finished yet. Safety islets have not been made, the water diversion has not taken into consideration. The construction before TheYoung Spectators began in June, but you haven’t still finished. You spoil the reputation of your company. I give you a month for correction",- he addressed to the company's director Alexey Balagansky.

Otherwise, the organization will be included in the list of unscrupulous companies.

As the head of the city reminded, a lot of criticism is caused by the organization of construction works. Elements are not created for the safe movement of pedestrians and cars.

"Every time before digging something, you have to think about where the people will go and how to make conditions for them. This is the place where the gas network’s reconstruction has been done, and the old pipes over the sidewalk have not been dismantled until this day", Bauyrzhan Baibek remarked while visiting to Ablai khan in the area below Kurmangazy.

At the same time, he drew the attention of contractors at the time that the lawn on most sites is laid above the curb level.

"The blinds of the irrigation canals have been laid with a rolled lawn. He's already falling off to pieces. What will happen, if the snow is cleaned? All of this will be changed.Mostly they have placed it above the curb level. Tomorrow, all the dirt pours into the sidewalks and into the irrigation ditches", the city’s mayor protested.

According to the head of the Construction Department of the city Nurbol Nursagatov, today a complete defect in the prospectus has been carried out, and the company issued instructions to eliminate comments. In case of non-fulfillment, corresponding penalties will also be organized.

"The work has not been accepted yet. Naturally, the payment for such work until the removal of all comments and quality performance of the project in full volume will not be made", he added.

Earlier, Bauyrzhan Baibek also instructed to correct all identified shortcomings when laying paving slabs on Abay Square in front of the Palace of the Republic. According to Mikhail Chikaev, the head of the contract organization "TRIA Holding", their company will rewrite "to the victorious" until it eliminates all the comments. At the same time, the work is organized in such a way as to avoid any inconvenience to the citizens.

It should be mentioned that in the framework of the reconstruction this year in Almaty, the pedestrian areas on a number of city avenues have been expanded. Instead of asphalt pavers were laid. The installation of LED lighting, new traffic lights and the construction of new fountains. Completing the renovation of entrance groups and facades of buildings. In October, new trees and green plantings are planned to be planted on the renovated avenues.

Altogether 524 streets were repaired in Almaty, almost 1400 old yards. Nearly 300 km of irrigation ditches and about 800 km of engineering networks have been built and reconstructed.
