The governor of Almaty met with the mayor of Abome-Kalavi, the Republic of Benin

The governor of the city mentioned that due to geographical distance economic ties between Almaty and Benin are rather limited, but there is a great potential for development of relations in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.

More than 50 international events are held annually in the city, such as the Spirit of Tengri, Star of Asia, the international jazz festival, the parade of orchestras and the participation of the Benin creative teams in them could give impetus to the expansion of ties and the strengthening of friendship.

According to Georges Bad, today Abome-Kalavi is interested in supporting international relations and applying the best practices of urban development.

"I have visited many countries, but in Kazakhstan for the first time. Almaty in autumn colors struck me with its beauty. We are interested in what direction the city is developing, what measures are being taken to solve certain problems. In addition, the metropolis is located in the foothills, so you have certain experience in preventing and preventing emergencies. We hope for close cooperation and exchange of experience. I would like to see Benin become a door for Kazakhstanis in West Africa in the future", - the Mayor of Abome-Kalavi said.
