Another 200 new buses have been arrived in Almaty

The buses on routes No. 48, 59, 69 and 71 will be fully renewed. Routes No. 8, 12, 19, 44, 56, 70, 74, 77, 123, 124 and 137 will be added with additional new buses.

Tomorrow, instead of the old gazelles, the routes No. 36, 51 and 125 will feature new small-sized buses with the possibility of landing people with limited mobility and intended for driving on narrow streets. Routes 40, 46 and 122 will be strengthened.

It is planned to launch the new trunk route No. 205, which will run along the Raiymbek avenue from the Barlyk market in the western part of the city to the Zhetysu market in the eastern part. There are 20 new buses for its maintenance.

In order to improve the quality of passenger transportation in Almaty , it is planned to launch a new route with 12-meter buses to the city of Kaskelen.

The governor of Almaty Bauyrzhan Baybek noted that today in the sphere of public transport there are transparent market mechanisms. Due to the renewal of rolling stock and the introduction of dedicated lanes, passenger traffic is constantly increasing.

“Old smoky buses in the city should not go in principle. If the private carrier does not update the rolling stock, despite the conditions created, then the contract with it should be terminated. It is necessary to actively introduce new technologies and in the future to work on the issues of free transplantation. The main criterion determining the quality of traffic is the level of satisfaction of citizens. In order to keep the number of personal vehicles in the city at the current level, citizens should be offered a decent alternative, ”the head of the city mentioned.

It should be mentioned that the arrived low-floor buses of the Liaz brand are equipped with air-conditioners, video surveillance cameras, a tilt system of the body and correspond to the ecological class Euro-5. Access to the routes will be carried out in stages as the rolling stock is ready.

At the end of the year, the share of new public transport in Almaty will be brought up to 87%.
