The governor of Almaty met with the US Consul General

During the meeting, the US Consul General mentioned that Almaty’s one of the leading areas for bilateral cooperation, business, cultural, scientific and educational center of Kazakhstan.

“Almaty is the only city in Central Asia where the American consulate is located, as well as the representative office of the American Chamber of Commerce, where US companies interested in starting a business in Kazakhstan apply. I was here in 2004 and 2008. This is a city where you want to return and I am very glad that I have had the opportunity to work here. I see that great changes have taken place in Almaty, the infrastructure for pedestrians is improving, public spaces are becoming more open,”said Eric Mayer.

It should be mentioned that in Almaty today there are 168 companies with the participation of American capital in the field of telecommunications, finance, trade, etc. The trade turnover between Almaty and the USA over the past year amounted to more than $ 400 million.
