As part of a working detour of the Auezovsky district, Akim of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev got acquainted with the progress of major repairs and seismic reinforcement of the school building No. 9.
The 1,200-seat school building, built more than 50 years ago, needed major repairs. Construction and installation work began in February 2023 and was scheduled to be completed a year later. However, the contractor did not meet the deadlines set by the contract. To date, only 85% of the work has been completed.
Due to the failure of the Construction Department's deadlines, a lawsuit was filed against the contractor to recognize him as an unscrupulous participant in public procurement and to recover the amount of a penalty in the amount of 3 million tenge.
At the moment, work is continuing on landscaping, finishing the gym and dining room. Surveillance cameras and fire safety sensors are also to be installed.
The Mayor of Almaty instructed the contractor to carry out work on the expansion of the entrance group, the organization of the irrigation system and the reconstruction of the foundation of the sports stadium.
Yerbolat Dosayev also instructed to speed up the work and complete the repairs before the start of the new school year, paying special attention to the quality of materials and modern equipment of the school.
