Akim of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev visited a new public space with an area of 0.8 hectares in the Kalkaman microdistrict of the Nauryzbai district of Almaty as part of a working detour.
Previously, there was an abandoned wasteland on this site, and now, thanks to the "Budget of National Participation" program, a beautiful and convenient space for the purpose of leisure activities of citizens is located here. Up to 1,000 people visit the square every day, about 800 of them are children and teenagers.
For the comfort of visitors, a pedestrian zone of 2 thousand square meters is equipped, 17 children's play complexes and 13 sports simulators are installed, basketball and volleyball courts, a football field, and tennis tables are located. In addition, more than 400 green spaces have been planted, an automated irrigation system has been installed, and a rainwater drainage system has been installed.
During the inspection of the results of the construction of the public space, Yerbolat Dosayev talked with local residents, who thanked the mayor for the implementation of this project.
"We are glad that new recreation squares are being built in our area every year. And earlier this site was abandoned, people with no fixed place of residence often lived here. Now it is a modern square, with all the amenities. We come here with the children, we walk. I am glad that recreation is provided here for all ages. There is plenty of space for young children - there are so many different game complexes, they are played here day and night. Teenagers and young people can play sports here. Pensioners also have a rest here. We would like to ask you to strengthen your patrols here," said Zauresh Mustafayeva, a resident of the Nauryzbai district.
In turn, Yerbolat Dosayev noted that 600 cameras of the video monitoring system (SVM) will be installed in Nauryzbay district to ensure public safety. Three of them have already been placed in the new square. Video footage from the cameras is received and viewed immediately by the city police.
"On my instructions, 4 more cameras will be installed here. Thus, we will ensure the complete safety of the residents. We have built a square of a new format. There are various playgrounds for children and sports grounds, small architectural forms, including those made of wood. Gradually, we will create and refine new public spaces for the comfortable living of the local population. For example, we plan to create a promenade area along the embankment of the Kargaly River," the head of the city said.
It should be noted that a total of 40 projects worth 2.5 billion tenge will be implemented in Nauryzbay district this year within the framework of the "Budget of National Participation" (BNU).
In general, 18.8 billion tenge has been allocated to the BNU project in Almaty this year, which is 5.8 billion tenge more than last year. Residents of the city will have the opportunity to propose and implement 364 projects for the improvement of courtyards, public spaces, and the creation of sports and playgrounds.
