The implementation of the School Bus project continues in Almaty

As part of the School Bus project, by the end of 2023, 97 new buses were running in the metropolis, transporting 8.3 thousand students from 30 schools. The head of the city finance department, Kanat Sukhambekov, announced this at the regular 19th session of the Almaty Maslikhat.

Let us remind you that, on behalf of the akim of Almaty, in order to improve the comfort and safety of transportation of schoolchildren, the “School Bus” project has been implemented since 2023 with the support of the akimat project office. The project covers younger schoolchildren living far from schools. To implement it, the city purchased 100 special buses in 2023. This year it is planned to purchase another 100 buses and cover an additional 27 schools in the metropolis.
