A new rehabilitation center of children with disabilities has opened in Almaty
The new center "Meyrim" is built for 3 to 15 years old children , who suffer from cerebral paralysis and the other musculoskeletal system disorders, intellectual development and Down syndrome.
The uniqueness of it is that an individual route for the correction development and rehabilitation for each child. Therefore, correctional and developmental activities, psychological and pedagogical assistance, physical therapy, massage, physiotherapy rooms, social and labor rehabilitation, music, art and play therapy are supplied.
A unique inclusive playground is built on its territory, where a large number of elements are integrated that help to develop balance, coordination, general and fine motor skills, strength, flexibility, visual images, tactile sensations, social skills, skills of teamwork. The children in wheelchairs and the people with disabilities can safely and safely move around in this area.
“The essence of social society is that people are not left alone. The head of state pays a great attention to this and today more and more Almaty’s businessmen under the realization of “Rouhani zhangyru” program are supportting such social projects. As a director of Bolashak Foundation, we’ve seriously worked on autism. Attracting private funds, today there are already 20 offices to support inclusion, seven of them in Almaty. In turn, through the executive committee line, our task, even in the work on improvement of streets, is to create comfortable conditions for everyone, as the President said in his Message. This includes mothers with wheelchairs, children, the elderly, people with disabilities. Today, as part of the reconstruction, our city is gradually transforming into a convenient environment for those who need special support, ”said Almaty’s governor Bauyrzhan Baybek during a meeting with his parents.
It should be mentioned that over these last three years, social sector investing in Almaty has been increased 2.5 times. This year, more than 7 billions tenge were allocated by the executive committee alone to support people with disabilities.
Today, the city has 23 rehabilitation centers, half of them are private. The center "Meyrim" opened on the basis of the former kindergarten number 250, which was given by the executive committee for temporary use in 2007.
