What fountains will Almaty citizens see in 2019
A new fountain has appeared on the former parking lot in front of the KTZh building. Along Nazarbayev Avenue, several so-called “dry” fountains have been built.
Citizens will be pleased by the new fountains on Abay avenue, including in front of the Academy of Sports and Tourism and the building of the former Turksib Hospitals
The construction of a fountain between the National Library and Baiseitov street has been completed. A fountain that did not work in front of the Lermontov State Academic Russian Drama Theater was repaired.
Several new fountains appeared at once on the renewed Abay square in front of the Palace of the Republic.
Old fountains at the intersections of Shevchenko and Karasay Batyr streets were reconstructed along Abylay Khan Avenue. A new fountain was built in front of the Kurmangazy Conservatory. In addition, a “dry” fountain appeared at the station square of Almaty-2 railway station.
On the territory of the reconstructed Central Park, to the east of the summer stage, a new fountain with an installation of apple trees appeared. An old fountain that had not functioned for more than 10 years was repaired here.
In the construction of new and reconstruction of old fountains, advanced technologies were used with circulating water supply, shape control system, height of jets, illumination from multicolor spotlights with halogen lamps.
To protect engineering communications from frost penetration, all fountains have been conserved for the winter period.
It should be mentioned that in Almaty more than 60 percent of the historic center of the city has been reconstructed, 524 streets and nearly 1,400 old courtyards have been repaired.
All subways of the city have been renewed. 300 km of channels and more than 800 km of utilities have been replaced.
Until the end of the year, a third of all street lighting will be transferred to LED and energy-saving lamps, and the share of new public transport will be brought to 87%.
