The Akim of Almaty took part in the opening of the monument of Shamshi Kaldayakov

The sculptural composition made of bronze is located in the square at the Palace of the Republic.

 

The opening ceremony was also attended by representatives of the intelligentsia, poets and writers, musicians and singers, including Mukhtar Shakhanov, Roza Rymbaeva, and the widow of the composer, Zhamilа Kaldayakova.

Opening the monument, Bakytzhan Sagintayev noted that almost everyone is familiar with the work of Shamshi Kaldayakov. The older generation was especially fond of his songs, and called the composer “the king of the Kazakh waltz”.

“Today we have perpetuated the memory of him for the young generation of the residents of Almaty and all Kazakhstanis,” the city akim noted.
