Almaty hosted the international festival of creative youth "ZhasSTAR"

The festival, under the slogan "Decade of new names", was organized by the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy, and supported by the akimat of Almaty.

 

Participants and guests of the festival, on behalf of the akim of Almaty B. Sagintayev were welcomed by the deputy akim of the city, Yerzhan Babakumarov.

“The festival, whose goal is the comprehensive development of young Kazakhstanis in the field of art and culture, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. The event gathers youth from different countries and annually expands the circle of participants. This is a great opportunity to reveal and to demonstrate to the general public our talents, expand creative horizons and gain new experience, ”said the deputy mayor of Almaty.

Each year, the festival hosts creative meetings, workshops, lectures, trainings and seminars from recognized cultural figures from different countries for the young professionals and students of creative educational institutions of Kazakhstan.

During this period, ZhasSTAR was visited by scriptwriter and film director Yegor Konchalovsky, musician and producer Baigali Serkebayev, conductor of the Paris Opera National Orchestra Philip Yui, famous stylist M. Lamin, First violin, soloist of the Moscow Virtuosi orchestra Alexei Lundin.

This festival is a concert musical in the format of Broadway musical shows. The participants of ZhasSTAR are of different ages. The most talented representatives of the country's creative youth performed the best hits of the world musicals on the stage of the main concert hall of Almaty - the Palace of the Republic. The festival program included compositions from musicals such as, “The Greatest Showman”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Romeo and Juliet”, Chicago, “Dostar sertі”, “La La Land”, “Mamma Mia.”
