Reconstruction of several streets will begin in Almaty
As part of modernizing public spaces and creating a comfortable urban environment, eco-friendly paving slabs, energy-efficient pavement lighting, outdoor furniture, sports and children's playgrounds, modern small architectural forms will appear on the reconstructed streets.
In addition, all entrance groups of buildings will be brought to a single style. Planned planting and planting new trees while preserving the existing ones, as well as laying an automatic irrigation system and replacing old irrigation trays.
During the workshop on city improvement, the governor of Almaty Bauyrzhan Baybek instructed the city planning control departments and comfortable urban environment to take the most stringent control over the quality performance of all construction works, and also to eliminate all the identified defects on the streets reconstructed in previous years.
To ensure the smooth passage of pedestrians on the sections of Zhibek Zholy (Zheltoksan - Seyfullin), Baiseitova (Kabanbay Batyr - Tole Bi) streets and Dostyk Avenue (Kazybek Bi - Kurmangazy), this year’s work will be carried out in stages. As part of the “Almaty 2020” Development Program adopted in 2015, 60% of the historical center, almost 600 streets and more than 1,400 old courtyards have been repaired in the metropolis after discussing with the citizens.
