Veterans of the Great Patriotic War and persons equated to them received payments on Victory Day

Today, May 6, in Almaty, on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, all veterans of the city received lump sum payments in the amount of 1 million tenge. Today, 75 veterans live in Almaty.

One-time material assistance in the amount of 100 thousand tenge was received by 1,592 residents, equated to veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and 2,870 veterans of military operations on the territory of other states.

The list of recipients of payments for Victory Day included 9,370 home front workers who were awarded orders and medals for selfless work in the home front during the war, as well as 455 widows of veterans of the Great Patriotic War. For them, the amount of one-time material assistance amounted to 50 thousand tenge.

The payment of material assistance by the Victory Day was carried out without requesting applications according to the lists approved by the akimat of the city of Almaty. A total of 14,362 people received payments.

The amount of lump-sum payments for veterans of the Great Patriotic War, at the suggestion of Akim of Almaty Erbolat Dossaev, was doubled - from 500 thousand tenge to 1 million tenge. After that, the deputies of the maslikhat supported the proposal of the head of the city at the extraordinary XVIII session of the maslikhat of Almaty.
