The governor of Almaty met with the USA ambassador

Today, the United States is one of the key partners of Kazakhstan. In Almaty, there are 172 enterprises with the participation of US capital in the field of telecommunications, finance, trade, and others. For 11 months of last year, the trade turnover between Almaty and the US grew for 11% compared with the last year and amounted to more than 470 million US dollars.

“To some extent, I consider myself to be Almaty citizen, because I have lived here for three years since 1996. It was a great time for me and my family, my children grew up in this city. Today, the city of Almaty has changed, the dynamics are felt, large-scale projects are being implemented. I was impressed by the pedestrian street of Panfilov, where people enjoy walking, the great atmosphere around. The number of pedestrian zones, playgrounds for children has increased, and this is very pleasing. It is evident that they are trying very hard and make a city for people, ”said the USA Ambassador.

During the meeting, William Moser noted that Almaty was the only city in Central Asia where the US Consulate General was located.

“We attach strategic importance to the city and are planning to build a new building for the Consulate General, which indicates its intention to develop long-term partnerships. I think this is a kind of promise for investors and various American companies that will be even more interested in working in Kazakhstan, ”the head of the diplomatic mission added.
