The citywide clean-up was held in Almaty

Almaty city akim Erbolat Dossaev took part in the citywide cleanup. The event on cleaning city playgrounds, parks, squares and lake sides involved more than 60 thousand citizens.

The ecological initiative resulted in mass tree planting on the territory of Saka burial mounds, in the pine forest of Alatau district, on the shores of Sairan lake and the Kargaly River. More than 5 thousand trees have been planted in total.

The cleanup also included the such activities on aesthetic improvement of Almaty, such as coloring of fences, benches and trash bins.

502 units of special equipment of city municipal services and enterprises were involved in garbage collection.

In total, city residents collected 10,910 cubic meters of garbage.

Points of drinks sale and coffee shops were available for the participants of the cleanup.
