Erbolat Dossaev visited the industrial zone of Almaty
Akim of Almaty city viewed the opportunities and problems of the industrial zone during his work visit.
The cars production plant Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan presented him its capabilities. It has established a production process for large and small assembly, body welding, paint coating, interior installation. Last year, the plant produced 26,000 cars, paid 9.4 billion tenge of taxes to the state budget. This year, they plan to reach plant’s full capacity and produce 45,000 cars.
Erbolat Dossaev was also presented with a draft project for auto components production plant. The new facility will produce seats, plastic parts, accessories and multimedia systems for cars. The start of construction is scheduled for autumn 2022. The company also announced their plans to build another car plant and launch a forging production of car parts. The company intends to localize its production in Almaty.

Asia Steel Pipe Corporation large-diameter welded steel pipe plant with a design capacity of 100 thousand tons of production per year. The company plans to export final products to neighboring countries, such as Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan.
BRB APK greenhouse complex with a capacity of 7.2 thousand tons of vegetables per year. In addition to the Kazakhstan market, the company exports to Russian Federation and the United Arab Emirates,
Valtherm aluminum and bimetallic radiators plant with a planned capacity of 20 million units per year, which is now being constructed. The export is mainly aimed at Russia. In total, 71.5 billion tenge was invested in these projects, more than 1,200 jobs were created.
Akim examined the Industrial Zone for engineering infrastructure. Today, transport control inspectorate closed the Industrial railway station, built back in 2017, due to the threat of train derailment. Another object on railway lines was caught on violations in 2018. The construction of the railway station and tracks was supposed to provide efficient logistics for residents and have a positive impact on the costs. Erbolat Dossaev instructed to complete works and launch both the station and access roads, as well as to control carefully the facts of violation of their acceptance before October 30, 2022.
Akim also got acquainted with the non-functioning sewage system, built in 2018 and still haven’t been activated. He instructed the authorized akimat departments to audit the obligations of the contractor and ensure their transfer to law enforcement agencies.
“We will definitely deal with a negligent contractor, but now it is more important for us to put the storm sewer system in order and launch it”, said Erbolat Dossaev.
During the working trip, akim also got to learn problems of energy supply of the industrial zone. Currently, the substation No. 12 needs to be repaired, since it cracked as a result of soil subsiding. Erbolat Dossaev instructed to complete repairs before October 30, 2022.
Akim also met with regional coordinating council members, as well as current and potential residents of the industrial zone. Today, the functions of service companies in the industrial zone are performed by two companies at the same times. These are Industrial Zone Almaty LLP and Infrastructure Operator IZA LLP.
“In order to facilitate the work by “One-stop-shop” principle, I instruct to leave one authorized operator, Almaty Industrial Zone LLP, and return all transferred functions and assets to this company. In this particular case, only one operator will work to develop and support the industrial zone,” said Erbolat Dossaev.
The meeting also discussed expanding territory of the industrial zone, training personnel on the basis of one educational cluster, as well as employment of city residents at enterprises.
In 2022, 13 projects worth 13.3 billion tenge are planned to be implemented, and by 2025, 40 industrial parks with a total area of 250 thousand square meters will be put into operation.
