At the end of February, before the mass melting of snow, in order to prevent flooding, the contractors of the akimats of the districts of the city of Almaty cleared canal networks and crossings with a total length of 1145.7 km. More than 60 units of special equipment and 300 workers were involved daily. 16 thousand m3 of garbage and sludge were removed.
Due to rains in March, cases of storm water overflow from ditches due to household waste in underground ditches under the carriageway were recorded.

In this regard, in order to ensure the unhindered passage of storm water, we appeal to residents and guests of the city not to throw garbage into the canal network.
