The benefits of the state educational savings system AQYL were discussed in Almaty

More than 21 thousand educational deposits were opened by Kazakhstanis within the framework of the state educational accumulation system. Alpamys Satybaldin, Director of the Department of Promotion and External Communications of JSC "Financial Center" of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, announced this during a press conference of the Regional Communications Service of the city of Almaty.

Recall, that since 2013, residents of the country can save money for their own education or for the education of their children. For this purpose, the AQYL educational savings deposit was created.
Its main advantage is that in addition to the bank remuneration of up to 9%, a state premium is charged on deposits. The size of the state premium is 5% per annum, for the socially vulnerable population - 7%.

“The deposit has a strict purpose: the accumulated funds must be used to pay for education, both in the Republic of Kazakhstan and abroad. The depositor opens an educational deposit in the name of the child or for himself in the participating bank, independently determines the possible period of accumulation, the estimated amount of accumulation and the frequency of contributions,” A. Satybaldin explained.

At present, the participating banks, where you can open an educational deposit are: JSC “Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan”, interest rate - 9%; JSC “Jusan Bank”, interest rate - 8.3%; Subsidiary JSC “VTB Bank”, interest rate - 8.8%; JSC "Nurbank", interest rate - 9%.

After entering a university or college on a paid basis, the depositor submits an agreement with the university/college to the bank where the deposit is opened, the bank transfers the tuition fee from the depositor's account directly to the educational organization. If funds remain on the deposit after paying for the entire training period, the depositor has the right to withdraw them.

If a child receives a grant, the contributor has the right to receive all the funds, together with the bank's remuneration and the state premium, or spend them to pay for the master's degree.

This deposit is insured by the Kazakhstan Deposit Guarantee Fund (with a limit of up to 10,000,000 tenge) and is protected by law from the imposition of any arrests and restrictions by government agencies.

At the beginning of 2022, the total number of registered deposits was 21,875 in the amount of 30,720,551 thousand tenge.
