At the regular meeting of the Regional Commission for Compensation of Damage to SMEs Affected by the Tragic January Events, 204 applications were approved in the amount of 337.4 million tenge.
Of these, 111 applications in the amount of 208.3 million tenge were sent through the “Zhana Alatau” charitable foundation (for entrepreneurs with damages up to 3 million tenge, who have no turnover according to the State Revenue Service); 93 entrepreneurs in the amount of 129.1 million tenge will be paid compensation from the budget (for the full amount of the declared damage according to official data on turnover, according to a simplified calculation formula). In total, since the beginning of the work of the Commission, 221 applications have been approved in the amount of 370.3 million tenge.
The commission's work continues. The applications of entrepreneurs are carefully studied for the completeness of the submitted documents and are considered by the members of the Commission by open voting.
Let us recall, that earlier, the Regional Commission revealed shortcomings in the mechanism for compensation for damage and made its proposals for improving the nature. Thus, a mechanism for compensation for damages is provided for, under a simplified mechanism with a maximum amount of payments up to 5 million tenge. This will significantly expand the coverage of affected business entities and speed up the payment of compensation.
Along with funds from the state budget, payments from private funds are also provided. Work to improve the compensation payment mechanism continues.
