“Last bell” rang for more than 8000 graduates of Almaty schools
By congratulating pupils, teachers and parents with the end of the school year, Bauyrzhan Baybek mentioned that over the past three years, three new schools for 3,000 places were opened in the city, two of which within the framework of PPP with private investment. Additional buildings to 6 schools for 4 thousand places were built.
This autumn, another school for 600 places will open in Alatau district. Two schools will be built by extensions for 1300 seats. On the instructions of Elbasy, another 8 new schools for 7,900 places will be built in Almaty.
“Today, all conditions are being created in the city for acquiring high-quality modern education. Elbasy always says that the 21st century is the century of education and science. Only by growing strong and qualified personnel can we build a strong and prosperous state. The state pays special attention to the social situation of children. In the current academic year, 2,614 Almaty’s excellent pupils from low-income large families have already started receiving monthly scholarships from the local budget, ”said Bauyrzhan Baybek.
It should be mentioned that this year almost 99% of the 236,000 students will rest in 800 children's summer camps. For these purposes, 232.4 millions tenge were allocated from the city budget. The rest will be involved in various clubs and sports clubs.
Over the past 5 years, funding for education has doubled. Seismic amplification of 78 state educational facilities was conducted. Schools of the city are 100% equipped with physics, chemistry, biology and language and multimedia classrooms. In the last academic year alone, almost 4,000 sets of multimedia equipment were purchased for schools in the amount of 1.9 billion tenge. This year it is planned to purchase 2.5 thousand multimedia sets, 55 robotics classrooms and 1000 sets of school furniture.
In addition, in the framework of the project “Almaty - adaldyk alangy” in all 204 schools of Almaty opened “living rooms” for parents.
