Almaty’s governor checked the city street’s reconstruction’s preparation tempo

During the working visit, Almaty’s governor Bauyrzhan Baybek told that all work on the modernization of public spaces should be carried out with minimal inconvenience for citizens. To do this, it is necessary to organize the phased construction work, to provide for the installation of special fences and pedestrian ramps.
“If in the first year building materials for some items were bought from abroad, today Almaty enterprises have established their own production of building materials and paving stones. This creates new jobs and increases tax revenues to the city budget, ”said Bauyrzhan Baybek.
It should be mentioned that by the Almaty 2020 Development Program adopted in 2015, 60% of the historical center, almost 600 streets and more than 1,400 old courtyards were repaired in the city after the discussion with citizens. A third of street lighting was translated into LED and energy-saving lamps, 300 km of irrigation ditches and about 2000 km of utility networks were replaced. All subways of the city were updated
This year it is planned to repair more than 600 courtyards, covering 50% of all urban high-rises. The average repairs are more than 140 streets. New roads are being built on 456 streets in 14 city microdistricts. On the outskirts of the city, a number of parks, squares and pedestrian zones will be landscaped. In order to create a safe urban environment, new LED lamps will additionally be installed on more than 120 city streets.
