The Main New Year tree of the city was lit in Almaty

The height of the main symbol of the New Year is 20 meters. Deputy Akim of the megalopolis Yerzhan Babakumarov took part in the solemn ceremony of lighting the Main New Year tree of Almaty.
This event, which was also attended by pop stars, kicked off New Year's events throughout the city. In all eight districts of the metropolis, more than 100 photo zones have been installed, including Christmas trees, small architectural forms and other elements of New Year's decoration.
In addition, from the 21st to the 30th of December, with the support of the city akimat, a "New Year's caravan" was organized. A caravan of trucks awaits guests and residents of the city: decorations, thousands of illuminations, a light show, bright photo zones and a large gift fair. More than 30 thousand meters of garlands of light, myriads of lights and interesting designs will not leave anyone indifferent. The movement of trucks will be covered on social networks.
At the same time, the city headquarters for countering the spread of COVID reminds citizens that in connection with the tense sanitary and epidemiological situation and the threat of the spread of the omicron strain, it is necessary to observe precautions - mask mode and social distance. Almaty residents need to continue vaccination, and those who received earlier vaccinations need to be revaccinated. Vaccination stations continue to operate.
