A flower-laying ceremony at the "Tauelsizdik Tany" monument was held in Almaty
Akim of Almaty B. Sagintayev, his deputies, district akims, public figures, representatives of  Zheltoksan and youth organizations honored the memory of the victims of the events of December 1986.
 
After the ceremony of laying flowers at the monument, the audience observed a minute of silence in memory of those killed in those events. The clergy read a memorial prayer. After that, a memorial ace was organized for the Zheltoksanites.
The monument "Tauelsizdik Tany" was opened at the intersection of Zheltoksan and Satpayev streets in 2006 with the participation of the First President - Elbasy N. Nazarbayev, who emphasized that we live in Independent Kazakhstan, which the young people, Zheltoksan participants dreamed of.
In accordance with the instructions of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart. Tokayev, a park named after those events “Zheltoksan” was opened in Almaty. In addition, a creative competition has been announced for the production of a monument to be installed in this park.
