An autism center "Asyl Miras" was opened
Akim of Almaty Bakhytzhan Sagintayev got acquainted with the work of the center. The new building of the Asyl Miras autism center is located at 122 Kunaev street.
Thanks to the increase in the area of the center, about 300 families a year will be covered by adaptation programs.
B. Sagintayev noted the contribution of Bulat Utemuratov's Foundation to the solution of social issues of the city. The network of autism centers "Asyl Miras" has proven its effectiveness, becoming the standard of correctional work with children with autism.
“Moving the center to a new building will allow the specialists of the institution to provide assistance to even more children,” said B. Sagintayev.
Asyl Miras in Almaty, became the first autism center opened by Bulat Utemuratov's Foundation in 2015. Over the past 7 years, about 2.8 thousand children were diagnosed for signs of ASD, about 1.5 thousand children received qualified assistance.
The center operates six intervention programs, each of which is aimed at identifying and eliminating deficits in social, speech and everyday skills.
A life skills room has been equipped, which is a scaled-down version of a studio apartment that allows children to develop cooperation skills, speech comprehension, visual skills and self-service skills.
There is also a 30-seat conference room for outreach work with parents. All services of the center are provided free of charge.

The new building, provided by the city administration, will cover about 300 families raising children with ASD with adaptation programs annually. Here, our specialists will help diagnose ASD, and if a disorder is found in a child, they will enroll him in the appropriate program for the development of missing life skills, ”said Dr. Almaz Sharman, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation.
