State awards for the 30th anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan were presented in Almaty
A solemn event "Almaty - the Golden Cradle of Independence" was held at the Palace of the Republic with the participation of the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament Maulen Ashimbaev and the Akim of Almaty Bakhytzhan Sagintayev. “It was in Almaty, that important decisions were made for the country, the Constitution, state symbols, the creation of the Armed Forces, the introduction of the national currency were adopted. The final results of the nationwide elections of the First President were also announced in Almaty. In 1998, the First President signed the Law "On the Special Status of Almaty", - said the Akim of Almaty Bakhytzhan Sagintayev, stressing that the Elbasy called Almaty "The Golden Cradle of Independence".
“The President of the country, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, said that it is symbolic that exactly five years after those tragic events, independence was proclaimed. We need to appreciate and in every possible way popularize the courage and feat of the heroes of Zheltoksan. They are the first swallows of this freedom, the heroes of December. The city akim also noted the contribution of Almaty residents, especially the older generation, to the development of the megapolis.

Chairman of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev, on behalf of the President of the country, took part in a solemn event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence. Speaking to the residents of the city, he noted that over the years of Independence, Kazakhstan has formed its own statehood and carried out the international legal registration of the state border. The Speaker of the Senate stressed, that thanks to the policy of the First President - Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev, our country has become a full and influential member of the international community, a new capital was built, and the regions of the country developed intensively.
“Over the years of independence, Almaty has received a significant impetus for development. Today it is one of the most dynamically developing and economically strong cities, not only in Kazakhstan, but also in the entire post-Soviet space. Almost every fifth entrepreneur in the country works in Almaty, ”Maulen Ashimbayev said.
According to the speaker of the Senate, high-quality human capital is concentrated in Almaty.
“The 'modernization core' of the economy of the future has been formed here: the creative class and an active civil society. Talents from different regions of the country flock here. Almaty is a leader in investment in research and development. As the Head of State noted, the experience of Almaty in the development of the creative economy must be scaled to the whole country, "said Maulen Ashimbaev.
During the solemn event, Maulen Ashimbaev and Bakhytzhan Sagintayev, on behalf of the President of the country, presented state awards to Almaty residents who made a special contribution to the development of the country and the city.
Thus, the chairman of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan, Ulykbek Esdaulet, was awarded the Barys order of the II degree, the Parasat order was awarded to labor veteran K. Baikenov, head of the DSEC in Almaty Zh. Bekshin. Rector of KIMEP University CH.Y. Bang. Scientists and educators, culture and health workers, civil servants and employees of construction companies and organizations that support the city's life were awarded state awards.
