Akim of the city Bakhytzhan Sagintayev, speaking on air of the Akimat LIVE program of the Almaty TV channel, urged residents of the metropolis to take the threat of the spread of the flu more seriously against the backdrop of the circulation of new variants of COVID.
In Almaty, there is a seasonal rise in the incidence of SARS. Over the past week, 12,479 cases of SARS were registered, the indicator per 100 thousand of the population was 613.34, which is 3.7 times higher than the indicator of the same period last year. Since the beginning of the new epidemic season from October 1 to November 17, 73 731 cases of SARS have been registered. In addition, 13 cases of SARS AH3N2 have been reported.
Doctors believe that the incidence of 60.6% is due to the spread among children, in total 7,557 cases were recorded among minors. 680 SARS patients were hospitalized in the medical institutions of the megapolis, including 20 pregnant women, 211 children under the age of one year. 216 people were hospitalized with pneumonia, including 51 children under the age of 14 and 26 children under one year old.
B. Sagintayev believes that it is necessary to take into account the tense situation with the spread of SARS, the flu and pneumonia. The Akim called on all residents of Almaty to strictly comply with all previously introduced preventive measures, including the unconditional wearing of masks. At the same time, everyone should minimize visits to crowded places. Moreover, those who have not yet been vaccinated against the coronavirus infection and flu should hurry up to protect themselves and their loved ones. Moreover, all conditions have been created for this in the megapolis.
Since September 15, in Almaty, vaccination against SARS of persons at risk has begun at the expense of the local budget (medical workers; children subject to medical supervision in medical organizations; often ill children over six months; children of educational organizations for orphans; children left without parental care ; children from orphanages; recipients of services of medical and social institutions (organizations); pregnant women in the 2nd or 3rd trimester of pregnancy; persons with chronic diseases of the cardiovascular system and respiratory system and for epidemiological indications).
Vaccination not only protects the population from infection with the SARS virus, but also helps to significantly reduce the incidence of complications and mortality. This year, a Russian-made trivalent SARS vaccine "Grippol Plus" was purchased in the amount of 130,000 doses.
