Almaty hosts a training seminar on expanding the "Police Service Model"
Today in Almaty, on the basis of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after M. Esbulatov, specialized training seminars are held on the transition to a "service model" of public safety.

Opening the seminar, Deputy Akim of Almaty Yerzhan Babakumarov noted that the work on the implementation of the "service model" of the police is carried out within the framework of the implementation of the Address of the Head of State. The key task is to increase the effectiveness of crime prevention through enhanced joint work with the population.

Service-oriented policing is a model that allows police and the public to apply new methods of cooperation to tackle crime, law enforcement and security.

Today, in Almaty, the pilot territory for the introduction of the "service police" has been scaled from the micro-district level to the Alatau district as a whole (more than 300 thousand people live in the district). In this regard, in order to correctly map the specified territory, analyze and develop additional measures for the prevention of offenses and strengthen public safety, training seminars are held for the members of the interdepartmental working group.

The purpose of the training seminar is to train members of the interdepartmental working group on modern global approaches to policing, working with data, as well as approaches to interaction with the population, within the framework of the concept of the “police service model”.

The interdepartmental working group includes representatives of city administrations, the Police Department of Almaty, the prosecutor's office and NGOs. The seminar was also attended by a public figure, consultant on police reform of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Elmira Khisamutdinova.

Recall, earlier, from June to November of this year, the "service model of the police" was launched in two districts of the city of Almaty: in Bostandyk - residential complex "Keremet" and Alatau - microdistrict "Uzhet". The results of the pilot project have shown their effectiveness.
