More than 1000 units of equipment are planned to be involved in snow removal in Almaty
The Housing Policy Department checked the readiness of production bases and specialized equipment for snow removal in the winter period of 2021-2022.
Snow collection sites have been identified in all districts.
It is planned to use 1,038 units of special equipment for cleaning roads. The number of road workers is 1,400. Additionally, it is planned to attract about 1200 road workers for the winter period. Thus, the total number of workers will be 2,600.
According to the ministry, the re-equipment of equipment for the winter operation will be carried out in stages, depending on weather conditions.
In case of heavy snowfalls, contracts were concluded with 18 construction organizations for the lease of 150 units of additional equipment - dump trucks, loaders.
30 thousand tons of salt and 60 thousand tons of screenings were purchased. Until October 15, the delivery of the standard amount of deicing materials will be made (a total of 33 thousand tons of salt and 80 thousand tons of screenings).
Meanwhile, contracts were signed for an additional supply of 10 thousand tons of salt and 15 thousand tons of screenings in case of abnormal snowfalls.
