The celebration of the Day of Almaty will be held online and in compliance with sanitary standards: citizens are urged to take safety measures

 

This year, two options for holding events for the City Day were developed, in particular, depending on the development of the sanitary and epidemiological situation, offline and online events were provided.

 

The head of the city Department of sanitary and epidemiological control, the chief state sanitary doctor of the megapolis Zh. Bekshin said that over the past day, 704 cases with positive PCR for coronavirus infection were detected in Almaty, an increase of 0.49%. The proportion of "symptomatic" patients continues to grow, reaching 96% on September 9. Thus, the dynamics of the pandemic are unstable. In this regard, sanitary and epidemiological measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection cannot be weakened, incl. taking into account the City Day.

 

In addition, registration of cases of violation of the established requirements of epidemiological safety continues among business entities. Only for the period from 9 to 12 September this year. 34 facts of violation of quarantine measures by legal entities were revealed, incl. non-observance of the mask regime. The risk of infection will be increased in case of mass events.

 

Summing up the results of the meeting, Deputy Akim of Almaty Yerzhan Babakumarov said that taking into account the unstable epidemiological situation and the continued presence of Almaty in the "red" zone, it was decided to transfer all cultural events to the online mode. All offline cultural, entertainment and public events have been canceled.

 

At the same time, as part of the celebration of the City Day in Almaty, a number of objects will be opened, including squares and parks, kindergartens and new buildings for schools, low-income families and large families will be given keys to apartments, etc. Vaccinated townspeople, subject to strict observance of quarantine restrictions will be able to take part in social and charitable events.

 

Celebrating the City Day should not lead to the infection of residents and guests of the metropolis. In this regard, the monitoring groups together with the Police Department from September 19 of this year. and over the next week, enforcement of restrictions will be strengthened. Along with this, the regional akimats with the involvement of volunteer organizations will build the work of sanitary posts and patrols in crowded places. Also, the Public Health Department of the city will continue to work on expanding vaccination coverage, for the convenience of citizens, mobile vaccination points will work.

 

The Akimat of Almaty city calls for vaccination against COVID-19 and compliance with preventive measures: wearing masks, social distance. Over the past day, 3033 people were vaccinated with the first component, 3448 people with the second component. In total, over the entire period, 919 907 people were vaccinated with component I, and 807 786 with component II. However, this number of vaccinated people is not enough for the formation of herd immunity in a two-million metropolis. The immune stratum of the population as of September 16 of this year amounted to 48% of the official population.

 

 Almaty residents are called for vaccination, for this there are 160 vaccination points in medical organizations, schools, cultural and sports facilities, in markets and in the city's shopping and entertainment center.
