Trainings for applicants of the "Participation Budget" project start in Almaty

 

B. Sagintayev noted that 800 million tenge is allocated from the city budget for each of the 8 districts. The total project amount is 6.4 billion tenge. The maximum cost of one project should not exceed 58.3 million tenge.

 

To participate in the project, it is necessary to submit an idea for the development of the urban environment on the website budget.open-almaty.kz, before October 1. If this initiative is supported by the votes of other residents, it will be implemented at the expense of the city budget.

 

At the same time, to improve the quality of the preparatory work for the project participants, from September 13, free online trainings on the "Participation Budget" will be organized within the framework of the Uyumdasu Participatory Budgeting social project. Let us remind you that the “Participation Budget” project is being implemented in Almaty for the second year already, since August 23, applications have been accepted for the third year of project implementation.

 

 Over two years, 322 projects were implemented (2020 - 49 projects, 2021 - 273 projects) worth 7.3 billion tenge for the improvement of parks, squares, courtyards, as well as lighting and repair of public areas.

 

The share of the budget for this project is 5%, which is 10 times more than the established minimum volume - not less than 0.5% of the annual budget. In the future, within the framework of the Participation Budget project, it is planned not only to increase funding, in particular, for the outskirts, but also to further improve the procedures for selecting projects. Thus, it is planned to collect proposals from residents throughout the year.
