An electronic register of green spaces launched in Almaty
Taking into account the presence of problematic issues with the quality of accounting for green spaces, since last year, the akim of the city Bakhytzhan Sagintayev was instructed to create an electronic register of green spaces that can provide accurate accounting of green spaces (of all types, including trees, shrubs, lawns and flower beds), and effectively perform tasks on operational monitoring and control of the ongoing sanitary protection and care measures. Along with an interactive map on the website eco-almaty.kz, the application “Register of green spaces of the city of Almaty” is available for download.

The register contains a database of green spaces based on the results of the inventory, where each object has its own individual number. At the same time, every plant growing in the city was taken into account, including the Red Book trees. At the same time, as noted by the developers of the register, about 10% of green spaces in the document may have inconsistencies in passports. Residents can write about such shortcomings both on the website and in the application.

In general, there are about 2 million 352 thousand trees in Almaty. Of these, healthy - 1 million 800 thousand, weakened - 459 thousand, emergency - 77 thousand.

The species composition, the current state and the necessary agrotechnical measures for each green space has also been determined. Working with the map allows you to change its layers, depending on the tasks.

Access to the results of the inventory is open to citizens, this will allow them to take part in solving the problems of greening the city. The system can be actively used by landscaping companies, management companies, district akimats, as well as enterprises that carry out planting of greenery in the city.

This electronic resource will optimize business processes for the preservation and proper maintenance of green spaces, which will significantly increase the efficiency of green fund management.
