“The pandemic has clearly highlighted the fragility of the entire education system. Therefore, it is extremely important that the innovations and creativity stimulated by this crisis are used in order to make our education better, more inclusive and sustainable, ”B. Sagintayev emphasized.
According to the akim of Almaty, from the first days of the transition to distance learning, the problem of technological training of teachers was in the spotlight and there was a need to revise the approaches to the organization of work.
“Therefore, since last year, in order to prevent a decline in the quality of education in the city and ensure its development in a changing environment, we began to develop a special three-year program“ Almaty Schools ”together with leading Kazakhstani and international experts,” B. Sagintayev said.
The essence of the program is a qualitatively new training of teachers and management staff of schools based on modern approaches, methods and practices in the field of education.
“The program is one of the measures aimed at“ improving ”the education system in the post-COVID period, and we are convinced that its implementation will give the necessary positive effect,” the city akim said.
Along with this, together with the public Foundation of Bulat Utemuratov in Almaty, a project of school farming "Green School" was launched. From this academic year, greenhouses will start operating on the territories of 16 educational organizations throughout the year. Thus, it will be possible to expand the greening zones of the adjacent territories, and most importantly, this will allow children to learn more about the production of various crops. In this sense, the project is educational for children.
“In the new academic year, special attention will need to be paid to working with parents, who are important participants in the educational process. Many of them, like teachers, faced difficulties during the pandemic and distance learning. Therefore, they also need our support, ”B. Sagintayev said.
In this regard, the Department of Education was instructed to intensify the activities of the Boards of Trustees and parental committees, as well as, together with interested bodies, to strengthen the work to provide support to socially vulnerable and disadvantaged families.
