In Almaty the city rental service of electric scooters has been started

Already in July, it is planned to deploy 35 stations with 300 electric scooters equipped with anti-vandal protection and GPS trackers. The service will be available using a mobile application that allows you to monitor stations for the availability of free scooters and track your own route on the map.

According to young Almaty startups, the electric scooter is becoming an increasingly popular way to travel in cities, given the compactness and environmental friendliness.

In Almaty, systematic work is being done to transform urban spaces, create a barrier-free environment and infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists; therefore, the city becomes attractive for innovative business.

“World practice shows that the duration of a trip on a rented electric scooter is 5-7 minutes. Often it is used to get to the subway station or bus stop. Through our application on Android and IOS, users will be able to pay for rent using a bank card. It is planned to enter payment with the ONAY card. By the end of the year, another 500 scooters are planned to be supplied, ”said Asylbek Esenov, director of the company.

It should be noted that today in the city about 100 km of connected bicycle paths have already been built. An automated bike rental system “AlmatyBike” has been introduced. Due to Italian investments, the country's largest car-sharing service “Anytime” has been launched.
