Yerzhan Babakumarov checked the readiness of schools for the new academic year in an offline format

On July 30th of this year, Deputy Akim of Almaty Yerzhan Babakumarov, together with the head of the City Department of Education Lyazzat Zhylkybayeva, as part of a working detour, got acquainted with the readiness of the educational infrastructure to accept students in case of offline lessons in the new academic year. Recall, that the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to ensure the readiness of schoolchildren to study in the traditional format.

As part of the work detour, the readiness status of new buildings and annexes for the reception of schoolchildren was inspected. This year, taking into account natural growth and migration, the number of pupils in Almaty is 280 thousand children. In this regard, as well as against the backdrop of a difficult epidemiological situation, an important task is to introduce more new student places to ensure safety measures and social distance during the educational process.

Thus, the construction sites of the additional buildings of the gymnasium No. 38 and school No. 199 were visited, the progress of construction work on seismic reinforcement with the restoration work of schools No. 40 and No. 45 was examined, and the readiness of a new kindergarten for 120 places on the territory of school No. 21 was additionally inspected. As a result of the construction of these facilities, 1,025 new student places will be created by the new academic year. In total, within the framework of the city Program for the accelerated construction of educational facilities until 2025 in Almaty, it is planned to reduce the deficit of places in schools by 73%.

Special attention was paid to the issues of compliance with sanitary and epidemiological safety measures. On the example of gymnasium school # 56, the possibility of introducing a special access system with measuring the temperature of students and other participants in the educational process is considered.

Deputy akim Yerzhan Babakumarov noted the importance of completing construction and improvement of the territory of educational institutions on time and gave a number of specific instructions to ensure the safety of education. Attention is focused on vaccination against COVID-19. As of today, about 705 thousand residents have been vaccinated in Almaty, 100% of teachers (of the required number) are covered. At the same time, in order to ensure a safe environment for children, it is necessary to expand vaccination coverage of the adult population, incl. parents.
